1979: A young Steve Jobs visits Xerox PARC.

But this story isn't about Xerox...

It's about what happened next:

Jobs immediately realizes this is the future of computing.

He negotiates a deal: Apple offers Xerox 100,000 shares of pre-IPO stock worth $1M to peek at their technology.

Then...

He assigns his best engineers to build something similar.

But someone else had the same idea...

Enter Bill Gates.

Through a former Xerox researcher named Charles Simonyi, Microsoft also learns about this revolutionary interface:

Google just announced Willow, their groundbreaking quantum chip!

But Willow is the first to crack this. The more qubits they add, the FEWER errors they get.

This has been a holy grail for almost 30 years!

Willow has 105 qubits and can maintain quantum states for nearly 100 microseconds - that's 5x better than their previous chips! 🔬

They tested it with grids of 3x3, 5x5, and 7x7 qubits. Each time they scaled up, they cut the error rate in HALF. This is the first time anyone's achieved "below threshold" error correction! 🎯
